Honda of Canada Mfg. (HCM) is a proud Tier Gold Level sponsor of the Formula North competition since 2013. In 1986, (HCM) began production with the assembly of the Honda Accord, leading the way as the first Japanese automobile manufacturer to establish a production facility in Canada. Honda opened its manufacturing plant in Canada as part of Honda’s global commitment to building vehicles close to where they are sold. GM of Canada officially came on-board as the Gold Level sponsor of the Formula North competition in 2017. The company traces its roots in the mid 1800’s in Tyrone, Ontario. By its 30th anniversary in 1938, GM of Canada had produced a million vehicles. Today GM of Canada has the capacity to manufacture more than one million units in a single year – generating significant export earnings by shipping about 90 percent of those vehicles to the United States. The SAE Central Ontario Section (SAE COS) is one of the primary chapters to champion the Formula North competition since the efforts began in 2010. It is a volunteer chapter representing SAE International (formerly known as the Society of Automotive Engineers), which is a global body of 128,000 scientists, engineers, and practitioners that advances self-propelled vehicle and system knowledge in a neutral forum for the benefit of society. The section hosts plant tours, conferences and lectureships and student competitions in order to promote and develop engineering skills and mentorship amongst their membership.

The Institute of Mechanical Engineers Central Canada Branch (IMechE-CCB) joined onboard as a sponsor of the Formula North competition since 2013. It is one of the international branches of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, the United Kingdom’s qualifying body for mechanical engineers. The Branch represents over 400 members in the provinces of Ontario and Manitoba working in industries ranging from pulp and paper, metals mining and refining to automobile manufacture, aircraft and engine manufacture, nuclear power, and space exploration.

Motorsport Marshalling Services, a member club of Canadian Automobile Sport Clubs – Ontario Region (CASC), has been training and organizing marshalling services for amateur and professional motorsport events since 1978. Most of their contracted events take place on the main road course at Mosport International Raceway, a 4 kilometer road-racing course located about one hour’s drive north-east of Toronto Ontario. They also organize marshals for each summer’s IndyCar street race in Toronto.

The Canadian Automobile Sports Club – Ontario Region is Ontario’s governing body of automobile sport, and is comprised of over 30 automobile and sport enthusiast clubs within Ontario. The organization sets rules and regulations for four divisions, Road Racing, Time Attack, Autoslalom and Ice Racing and administers provincial championships in each.
